Kings Park, Perth


Kings Park is a park located on the western edge of, and overlooking the central business district in Perth, Western Australia. Kings Park and Botanic Garden has more memorials, statues and honour avenues than any other park in Australia.

The total area of Kings Park is 400.6 hectares and features both cultivated gardens and untamed bushland. You can picnic on grassy lawns, take a jog through the bushland or attend one of the summer outdoor concerts under the stars. Children are also catered for with a number of excellent playgrounds suitable for children of all ages. It's within throwing distance of the city of Perth as the dusk image below demonstrates...

Kings Park is rich in Aboriginal and European history, contemporary culture and offers innovative design, displays and services. Kings Park has an international reputation for scientific research, leading horticulture, conservation and public education. It is home to the spectacular Western Australian Botanic Garden, which displays over 3,000 species of the State’s unique flora. Two thirds of the 400 hectare park is protected as bushland and provides a haven for native biological diversity.

Visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the Swan and Canning Rivers, the city skyline and the Darling Ranges to the east. Bushland walk trails, immaculate gardens and parklands and a variety of children’s discovery play areas can all be found in Kings Park. The Visitor Information Centre, free daily guided walks, Aspects of Kings Park gallery shop, cafes and public transport are easily accessible.

Of course while you're in Western Australia, you should also visit the Margaret River area which is full of vineyards and wineries complete with tasting cellars and many gorgeous boutique places to stay, like Basildene Manor and Empire Retreat.

Plus we have flights up north to Broome where you will experience WA's 90 Mile Beach, some of the best ocean and beaches you will ever see. Cable Beach Club is set right on the beach in Broome and well worth a visit.
