The Cullen, Melbourne

The Cullen is one of the “Art Series” hotels in Melbourne. Full of the art of Adam Cullen it’s a boutique type of hotel that has nice, funky, comfortable rooms, king size beds and “evo” amenities. This is a great spot to be centrally located in Melbourne for a weekend getaway. Chapel Street just a few paces away.

The room was comfy and large enough. A very funky feel to it. I did find the air con seemed a little noisy when the lights were out and you were trying to get to sleep. A previous stay here in 2013 I had the air on 19 all night and the room did not feel that cool.

The food downstairs at Gramercy is pretty good. Even the mojito’s are good. Plus if you want asian, HuTong Peking Duck & Dumpling is on the premises as well.

I see on their website that you can make The Cullen your home as well. Long term rates start at around $550 a week. Not bad.

There are two other art series hotels in the area as well. The Olsen in Chapel Street and The Blackman in Toorak Road.

* * * * centrally located in funky suburb
