Padma Resort, Ubud - Tears of Joy

Ubud, the lush tropical rainforest that comes highly recommended when you are in need of zen time away from the buzz, fun, sounds and traffic of Seminyak.

A four night stay at the Padma Resort 45 mins north of Ubud central is surprisingly soul charging. This hotel under promises and over delivers. Oh did I mention it's a photographers dream?

From the email 48 hours pre stay requesting information on our pillow preference and precise arrival time I felt a high standard of service was in the bamboo forest air.

Driving through a small narrow road north of Ubud nothing prepared us for the exceptional service, attention to detail and visual feast before us. We were escorted swiftly to our Mountain View Room (views of Mt Agung and Kintamani) for check in, avoiding counters and wait time.

Our room was actually a beautifully appointed family two bedroom suite, two bathrooms, joined by a comfortable lounge and breathtaking balcony. Despite the Padma Ubud being a large resort, this hotel targets the individual experience.

There are a 4 x daily shuttles into Ubud Central and Monkey Forrest for a 'big smoke' fix of the delicious cafes/yoga centres, markets and walk.

All of the above is fun, but if you are wanting to rebalance, check in with your "inner omm" you will feel the call to stay in the surrounds of the Padma and simply breathe. Daily sunrise yoga sessions in the bamboo nest are a must do. The aerial yoga vs the beginners floor sessions will reset you in no time, then you can rest by the pool.
