If you’re looking for a pretty special place to stay in Seminyak, Bali, then the Double Six Hotel & Spa overlooking Seminyak Beach is probably the pick of the bunch at the moment.
The service here is awesome from the moment you step out of the car to the moment you leave. They have obviously spent a lot of money on staff training, look and feel.
The hotel was conceptualised by the experienced local owner and team behind the renowned Ku De Ta, Cocoon Beach Club & Restaurant and other successful Balinese venues. The team has unrivalled design talent, hospitality experience and market knowledge and has effectively delivered on the vision of providing unparalleled luxury in the most sought after location on the island of Bali.
There are seven different types of suites available. All are just gorgeous. We have stayed in several different ones from the basic (which is hardly basic – the pics below are all in a basic room), through to Penthouse 66, which is a three bedroom, two level suite that anyone would be happy to live in for the rest of their life. We actually held a significant milestone party there, starting on the Double Six rooftop and moving through to the penthouse during the evening with about 25 guests and it was magnificent. The team could not do enough to make your special night awesome.
The fit out has been styled towards “cool luxury” with luscious toiletries in rooms, big fluffy towels, a huge bath, big comfy beds and pillows and funky lighting in your room and on the balcony. Check in is seamless and mostly occurs in your room.
Out front, the pool winds its way across the front of the entire complex. There are always towels on every sun lounge and bar service takes place quickly and without fuss.
A very stylish Italian restaurant features in the complex that literally has a glassed room where you can see fresh pasta being made each day. This is worth a visit, even if you are not staying at the complex. This is also where you go for breakfast each day.
The spa is also worth checking out as it also has a very distinct luxurious look and feel to it. I snapped some pics whilst in there which you can see below.
The only issue is that sometimes at night there is a bit of a clash between music happening at a bar over on the beach and music happening at Double SIx.
